History
Richard P. Arber Associates was founded in 1981 by Richard P. Arber,
P.E., BCEE. Rick received his Masters of Science degree in Sanitary
Engineering from the Colorado State University in 1974 before beginning
his consulting career. Rick’s practical experience with both water
and wastewater treatment led to his involvement in Denver Water’s Potable
Water Demonstration Plant, which treated sewage to drinking water quality
in the late 1970’s. The project involved extensive analytical and health
effects research; detailed aquatic chemistry knowledge and application
of state-of-the-are treatment technology. Rick’s involvement with water
reuse projects led directly to his advisory committee status for EPA’s
Guidelines for Water Reuse Technology Manual.
Arber’s early years through the mid 1990’s were primarily based
on completion of water, wastewater and water reuse planning, regulatory
and financial assistance, and facility evaluations. Throughout this
period Rick established the business standards that became the foundation
for Arber, including client satisfaction and employee development.
Throughout this period, Arber continued to strengthen its design team and continued to increase its design experience. Arber’s proximity to the National Park Service’s Western Regional Office in Colorado enabled Arber to complete water and wastewater projects with national parks throughout the United States, including Mt. Rainer, WA, Mesa Verde, CO, Presidio, CA, and Lake Mead, AZ.
In the early 2000’s Arber became an employee owned company and
remains focused on its original foundation of completing water,
wastewater and water reuse projects. Arber's commitment
to exceptional client service, outstanding career opportunities,
and responsible environmental stewardship is brought to each project
in Colorado and throughout the United States.
