City of La Junta, Colorado – Raw, Finished and Concentrate
Pipelines and Finished Water Pump Station
Richard P. Arber Associates provided design and services during construction
for the 24-inch raw and the 24-inch finished
water transmission piplines in 2002. Arber Associate also designed a finished water pump station as
part of the new City of La Junta Water Treatment Plant in 2004.
Key components of the project include:
- 7,000 feet of 24-inch ductile iron raw water and finished water
transmission piping.
- 80 feet of bore and jack.
- Multiple drain manhole structures and air/vacuum
valve vaults.
- 100-Hp, vertical turbine pumps, three pumps in operation and
one standby unit.
- Pump control valves for smooth start and stop of the pumps.
- Soft start controllers, air release valves and surge protection.
- 6.6 mgd pumping capacity.
